Many people have heard of visualisation or seen professional athletes use the power of their mind to drive performance, but why would you want to take an audio course in learning how to visualise?
Every night, when we are asleep, we go into 90 minute sleep cycles and towards the end of every sleep cycle we enter a phase of REM sleep which corresponds with the dreaming phase.
Within this dreaming phase, our minds have an incredible in-built intelligence and use the power of imagery to work through the tensions and stresses of the day and release these in the imaginative play of the dream state.
We can also learn to use and harness the power of visualisation and imagery in the day time by practising a focussed, guided relaxation.
By doing this Calm Connection online course, you will be guided through the basics of relaxation and visualisation. Each lesson builds upon the last, and each track is between 5 - 10 minutes in length, so you easily can fit this into a busy schedule.
By learning how to visualise, many people find their stress levels are lower, anxiety reduces, sleep is better and they can use visualisation almost like an inner guide - to point them in the right direction, develop intuition, and set clear intentions.
✅ Guided lessons which take you step by step through everything needed to naturally reduce anxiety and establish your own practice
✅ Suitable for complete beginners (no previous experience necessary)
✅ Learn to use visualisation to help reduce stress, develop intuition and improve sleep and wellbeing
✅ Designed and produced by Anthony Hall, an HCPC Registered Music Therapist and Fellow of Association of Music and Imagery
“I have benefitted from the course by improving my observations whilst walking and using them for visualisation. It is the use of senses that I find helpful, concentrating on those helps me focus.
Once again, the teaching is short which means it is accessible for even those with busy lives. The connection with nature is uplifting (especially bird song) and the ‘talk with the wise person’ is good for reflection.
I really like your approach and I’m going to go through the course again to embed the resources you teach.”

The Power of Visualisation: online course
All you need to know about the Calm Connection Audio course: 7 days of visualisation for reducing anxiety and improving wellbeing.
This course is not suitable for everyone.
If you have a diagnosed serious mental health condition, or recent serious trauma, then seek advice from your own doctor, therapist or psychiatrist before you do the course.
The material here is presented for educational purposes only - I am not your personal therapist. You must only proceed if you feel this is helpful for you and taking full responsibility for your own well being. For more information on this, please read the disclaimer.
The Introduction section gives a background to the course and some helpful tips on how to get the most out of the lessons.
Lesson 1 gives a guided relaxation and a short practise visualisation to a calm and safe place of your own choice. This is an important starting point and can help reduce anxiety straight away.
Lesson 2 goes a little further with an introduction to using the senses whilst visualising in order to deepen the experience.
Lesson 3 taps into our intuition and subconscious intelligence. We look for symbols and objects in the imagery which may be helpful for us.
In Lesson 4 we practise moving through and within the imagery, exploring more and going a little further.
Lesson 5 is a key moment within the course - we get to meet a wise being (or an older, wiser version of ourselves) and have an opportunity for dialogue.
For Lesson 6 we think about a personal wellbeing goal and practise setting clear intentions.
Finally, in Lesson 7 we bring everything together and have more time for practising the aspects of visualisation that you have found most helpful.
To get the most from the course, take your time to prepare well.
It is strongly recommended to use headphones if you have them.
Find a time and place where you won't be disturbed. Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Get the track downloaded onto a device that you are familiar with and listen to the introduction at the beginning of the course so you know what to expect.
And, above all, have fun! Enjoy the experience of strengthening your own calm connection and learning to work with imagery and visualisation - such a wonderful resource that so few people know how to tap into.
Although originally designed as a 7 Day course, it will not matter if you have a few days (or even a week) between tracks. If you leave it much more than a week, you may find you lose momentum and your mind takes a while to get back into things. I would suggest aiming to listen to either one track a day, or at least one track every few days.
I would also recommend you listen to the tracks in the order they are numbered - as they are designed to take you through a logical program.
Have a listen to the course Introduction (you can listen for free by clicking the Preview button) as this explains how different people experience visualisation.
For many of us, the experience can be a feeling or emotion, rather than a clear image within the mind - but the best way of finding out whether this is for you is to have a go.
The Day 1 track is also free of charge so you can listen to a preview and see if this way of working is going to be helpful for you.
There are several factors helpful for visualisation - being in a situation where you are able to relax is a key one. So give yourself the best chance of success and have a go - good luck!
That's great news - well done!
If you have found the course helpful, there are two further routes for exploration.
Firstly, you can go back yourself to any particular track that you found really useful and listen again. By reconnecting with the image and experience, you may find it deepens and you get even more out of it. Also, be aware, that we as human beings change each day so no two experiences are the same - you may go back and listen to the same recording again but have a very different experience the second time around.
Secondly, you can look at other products in the Shop area to see what may appeal next. The 7 Day Calming Down Challenge would be a good follow up.
